Chillon Château is placed on a rock on the banks of Lake Geneva. The water manor is the most visited building in Switzerland. For almost four centuries Chillon was the home and profit making toll station of the Counts of Savoy. The rock island between Lake Geneva and the steep mountains was occupied even in ancient times. For several years the section of boats on Lake Geneva and the imperative area course to the St. Bernhard Pass was controlled from this island.
The Castle can also be rent of various occasions. From the Château, you can reach Montreux (by vessel, by transport or by walking), where you can appreciate ten mile of sheltered bay, circumscribed with flower lined promenades, outlandish plants and palm trees.
