How to Reach kodai

By Train

Many tourists prefer the rail route, where they have to get down at Kodai Road, which is about 100km away from the main town. From here, you can easily book a taxi to reach the main town.

By Air

The airport nearest to the hill station Kodaikanal is Madurai, which is about 120km away. Others in line include the Trichy and the Coimbatore airports, which are respectively 150km and 175km away. From the airport, you can easily get a bus to reach the heart of the city.

By Bus

Regular bus services are available from various cities like Coimbatore, Pondicherry, Chennai, Madurai and many more.

By Road

Kodaikanal is easily accessible by road from Chennai, which is 439km away and Bangalore approximately 305km away. It’s only about 3.5 hours journey from Madurai. But if you decide to go by road, make sure that the fuel tank of your car is full, because there are very limited gas stations on the way.
