Places to visit in Kufri

This is one of the oldest cultural complexes in India. Here you can experience various cultural forms of different local art and craft. This is a Gothic Victorian style marvel built in the colonial period of India near about 122 years back.  This complex is located on the Mall road and attracts a huge number of people every year from all nooks and corners of the world. It remains open from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

This is a place which will be loved by your kids. The Kufri Fun World is an amazing place where your kids can indulge themselves in ultimate fun and entertainment. There are numerous rides in the park which are loved by kids of all ages. Another popular place for kids is the Hip Hop Amusement Park which is located 6 kms away from Shimla. Virtual reality games, redemption games and the air hockey games are the major attractions of this amusement park. 

The jai Bhima Kali Mata temple is located just at the beginning of the main road from where the hill station of Kufri starts. This temple is recognized as a highly sacred place and is popular among both the locals and the tourists. The main attraction inside this temple is a pond which is regarded as a sacred place. The pond is located within the temple premise and is named as Kupher. Another important religious place in Kufri is the Shri DurgaMandir. 

The Himalayan Nature Park is one of the most popular parks in Kufri meant for the animal lovers. The forest Department has set up this park to create awareness among the local people to restore flora and fauna of the place. This park inKufri is situated 2,600 meters above the sea level and covers an area of 90 hectares. A huge variety of trees can be found in this park, including spruce, deodar, blue pine, fir and oak. The Kufri natural park gives opportunities to the birds and animals to live in an environment similar to the wild environment of the forest. 

The small hill station of Kufri situated at the foothills of the Himalayas remained unknown to the rest of the world till 1819. This is a scenic vacation spot which is away from the noisy life of the city and has some must see places. There are quite a few mesmerizing places near Kufri which offers some wonderful scenarios. Fagu is one such place located 6 kms away from Kufri. The tourist bungalow at the top of the hill overlooking the Giri valley is the major attraction here. Two other places which are located at a close proximity with Kufri are the Indira Tourist Park and the Mahasu Peak from where the ranges of Badrinath and Kedarnath are clearly visible.

The Himalayan National Park is the most renowned tourist attraction of the Himachal Pradesh. More than 180 species of uncommon birds and animals can be seen in this National Park. To get an interesting view of the Himalayas you may pay a visit to the Indira Tourist Park, which is situated just beside the Himalayan National Park. The peaceful ambience of the park and the amusing climate makes it an awesome place to spend time with your family and friends. 

Visiting Kufri during the winter festival is the best way to know the culture of Kufri. This winter festival is the main highlight of the place. This is generally held in February and is participated by a huge number of skiing experts. Apart from these skiing experts numerous people are also there who join the festival from every nook and corner of the world. The nerve chilling experience of skiing is the major attraction of Kufri during this winter festival as well as the rest of the year. This beautiful hill station was once within the boundary of Nepal. After the Independence of India, it became a part of Shimla.
