Places to visit in Nainital

This house can be found on Aryapatta Hill and used to be the residence of Jim Corbett. The house was later turned into a museum and is full of artifacts commemorating the life of Jim Corbett.

This is one of the centres for the Hindu religion which has been dedicated to Shri Neem Karoli Baba, who is a saint and guru. There are always devotees coming from all over India to visit this temple and ashram.

This peak is also known as China Peak and is the tallest point in the area and the hike to the peak will take around an hour. From the top you can see the Himalayas and the whole area of the city. There is a tea shop here that serves omelettes, biscuits, coffee and tea.

This isn't your traditional landmark but still this is what the city was named after. The lake is situated directly in the centre of the town and is shaped like an eye. There are many different activities around here, including boating and shopping.

One of the best places to relax is at one of the lodges that are located near the Corbett National Park. Here you can enjoy the river that passes by the resort as well as the health spa, yoga instructors and the pool. The spa offers a variety of treatments, including massages and foot reflexology.

This church was founded and named by one of the many Bishops in Calcutta and is located in a forest. The church is full of charm and beauty and should definitely be visited.

This zoo is huge and is spread over wide spaces, but it houses some unique animals. Some of the animals in the zoo are native to the area and can survive in the high altitude of the city. You can even choose to sponsor a certain animal and pay for the food and maintenance.

Naina Devi temple is considered to be extremely sacred by the people of Nainital. The temple was originally constructed during the 15th century, but some people have claimed that it was constructed by Moti Ram Shah.

Also known as Mukteshwar Dham, Mukteshwar temple is an ancient Hindu shrine. It is 350 years old temple and  is considered to be a prominent place of worship in Kumaon. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
