Next comes Melbourne with 4.7 million, followed by Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide having 2.3 million, 2 million, and 1 million people residing in these cities respectively. 

 

Religion:  Section 116 of the Australian Constitution prohibits from making any law that requires an individual to establish any religion. However, more than 50 percent of the Australians are Christians followed by Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism. 

 

Language: There is no official language of Australia. However, most of its population speaks English. Australian English is a language that distinguishes the accent and lexicon, making it slightly different from other versions of English regarding grammar and spellings. Other languages like Mandarin, Arabic, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Italian are spoken by less than 20 percent of the population.
