From Chennai, you will be able to avail buses which run on a frequent basis and some of them have air conditioning while others do not. However, you can also take a bus to the city from many other places, including Bangalore, Madurai and many more cities.

There are many different ways to get here including railways, roadways and airways. If you travel by plane you will need to travel to the Chennai International Airport and then travel by road. The Chennai Airport is located around 135 kilometres from the city and is connected to many of the different airports all over India and even outside the country as well.

Also, you take a train and you can find one that comes from any of the major cities and some of the trains go directly to the city, but you can also take a train to any of the nearby stations including Villupuram which is 38 kilometers away, Chennai which is about 150 kilometers away and Katpadi which is 162 away to stations like Salem and Tiruchy.
