Best places to visit in Bangladesh

On the banks of river Buriganga, at Kumartoli in Dhaka, this magnificent piece of Indo – Saracenic Revival architecture stands. Ahsan Manzil was built in 1869. This palace was once the official residence of Nawabs or Royals of Dhaka.

Lalbag Fort is also known as Aurangabad Fort. Mughal Emperor Muhammad Azam Shah and son of Emperor Aurangzeb stared to build this fort when he was Subahdar or Viceroy of Bengal. This Monument houses, Diwan-i-Aam, Tomb of Bibi Pari and Lalbag Fort Mosque.

M. M. Dutta was a famous Bengali litterateur, his ancestral house build by his father in 19th century. This house is now transformed into a museum which displays some belongings from the Datta family and is located in a village Sagardari near the city of Jessore.

The National Museum of Bangladesh is located in Ahsan Manzil. This is a must visit the venue and gives perfect glimpse of past history of Bangladesh.

The National Botanical Garden is also called Bangladesh National Herbarium is located at Mirpur in Dhaka. The garden is a place to see and study more than 56,000 individual varieties plants and trees; it also has a huge collection of aquatic plants. Many species found here are rare and exotic.

If one is lucky he or she can even spot a Leopard, Tiger, Elephant, Black Panther, Sambar Deer, Clouded Leopard, Monkey, Python, Porcupine, lizard, ox and Peacock in their natural habitat. Jungle safari, Boating and Horse riding are some of the activities here.

Royal Bengal Tiger, Javan Rhinoceros, Water Buffalo, Wild Boar, can be seen in their natural habitat.
