Place's to visit in Slovenia

This is the `administrative, cultural and economic capital of the country and is home to some of the most popular monuments of Slovenia. With remnants of the Roman Empire, mediaeval castles and Baroque façades this city brings in a perfect combination of modernism and heritage the Plecnik’s Tromostovje or the Tripe Bridge and Zmajski or the Dragon Bridge and the Ljubljana University building are the stand out architectural monuments in the city.

This is considered by many as the most famous monument in entire Slovenia. Built on a tall cliff this mediaeval castle rises upon the picturesque Bled Lake this Renaissance style castle has a Romanesque style tower and there are also some interesting frescos here.

This now fortified Romanesque style church is surrounded by a 8m tall wall and was built around the year 1480. The church has some excellent murals that also includes a famous painting known as Dance of the Dead.

The national Museum of Slovenia is probably the finest museum in the country and has intriguing collection of artefacts and carved stonework showcasing the rich historical and cultural heritage of the country. Museum of architecture and design at Ljubljana, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Modern Art, National Museum of Contemporary History, Slovenian Natural History Museum, Technical Museum of Slovenia, and Slovenia railway Museum are among the other most visited museums in the country. The Slovenian natural History museum will keep you engaged for a very long time with its extraordinary range of display items and if you want to have a good understanding of the country.

With many different outdoor adventure as well as fun and cultural activity options for kids and teenagers Slovenia has everything required to be considered as a perfect family holiday destination. Fun hiking and biking in the Alpine mountains is of great attraction both among children and the grownups. There are some easy trails those are perfect for hiking with your family and children and experience some spectacular view of high waterfalls, formidable cliffs and amazing land formations. You can also rent a mountain bike and take your kid for a joy ride. The Slovenian coast is also a great destination for kids and the marine Aquarium in Piran.
