Places to visit in Victoriafalls

This tram ride is 2 1/2 hours long and it will take you to the bridge and here you can get down and experience a tour of the bridge. While on the bridge you can do many different activities, including bungee jumping. You can even enjoy the bridge slide or the bridge swing.

This is the place to find one of the biggest supermarkets in the area called Spar, which can be found behind the booking office for Shearwater. There is also a huge variety of other shops, including those for cell phones, banks, pharmacies and even cyber cafes.

This is located on the Zimbabwe side and it is the waterfall at the lowest point. Not only is it the lowest placed waterfall, but it is the only waterfall that is separated from all the rest and the island that creates the separation is called Boaruka.

The bridge is set over the 2nd gorge, which is considered to be one of the most crucial landmarks and monuments to the falls. Besides that, it is also one of the easiest ways to between Zambia and Zimbabwe for people exploring the falls.

If you want to experience the culture of the Leya community, then visit this village that is close to the gate at the border. The village is home to around 60,000 people who have lived in this area for many generations.

This game reserve is huge and famous for the population of the rare and beautiful sable antelope. This is the perfect place to visit during winter because it is located on the elephant highway.

This monument stands near the falls and is a tribute to David Livingstone, who is said to have been the first European who had the luck to see the waterfalls. He had then named the waterfall after the Queen at the time, Victoria.

With so many crocodiles in this area, it is not surprising if you come upon one during your travel. However, if you want to see one in a more confined area, take a tour of the crocodile farm.

There are not a lot of parks and gardens around this area unless you want to include national parks. However, there is plenty of beautiful scenery that can be viewed from anywhere.

You will encounter this museum right next to the entrance to the falls, which is on the Zambia side of the border. The museum exhibits details about how the falls originated and some of the artifacts and tools made of stone that were discovered nearby.

Since the history of Victoria Falls is so intimately intertwined with that of the railways it only makes sense to have a museum dedicated to the railway network of the place. The museum has all the information regarding the history of the railways in the vicinity and is the perfect place for small children.

There are numerous different shrines that are sacred to the people in this area, including the clan of Lozi and those that are more traditional. There are some that can be found on Livingstone Island and these all are frequently worshipped.
