The annual Snake Boat Race is of immense importance to the society in Champakulam. Here, every village has its own snake boat known as chundans. These are worshiped as their village deity and maintained in its best form. At a time 105 oarsmen can be accommodated in each of these boats. These boats are always worth watching.
