The Arthur's seat is also known in Mahabaleshwar as the queen of all points. Located at an elevation of 1340m, Arthur's Seat is surrounded by a green plateau on one side and the deep Savitri gorge on the other. Arthur Mallet is the name from which the name of this place is derived; it is believed that he sat here after losing his children and wife in a ferry accident in Savitri river. This beautiful spot is compared to the Grand Canyon of Colorado due to its scenic and spectacular view. Kate's point, Bombay point and Marjorie point are ideal points for trekking.
