Significance: The enchanting period of monsoon revives the city of Puri, bringing out an earthy freshness like no other. Here are some of the recommended destinations to visit - Lord Jagannath Temple, Konark Sun Temple, Mausi Ma Temple, Buddhist Temple, Nalabana Bird Sanctuary, Sudersan Workshop and Museum, Gulmi Waterfall, Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary, Sree Gour Vihar and Narendra Pokhari.

Although there have been a number of rain-related accidents in this city, one must not write off this season entirely. This is still a popular time for tourists to visit because of the endless things to see and experience!


Things to know before the visit: There is a high risk of thunderstorms occurring during this season, during which it is common for road accidents to take place. Take this into consideration while planning your day trips. Although the weather can be risky, tourists still flock to the city during this time. As such, prices will tend to be higher. 


Tips: Pack your bags with appropriate rainwear, which include an umbrella, windcheater and gumboots. Ensure that your attire is comfortable, and your footwear is sturdy. All camera equipment should be carried in waterproof casings.
