PathirakaliAmman temple is also known as Kali Kovil.Kovil means Temple in Tamil language. This is also a Hindu temple which can be visited.

There are a total of seven hot wells here which is a major crowd puller. Tourists throng this place once they come to know that the water has therapeutic and healing properties. Strangely enough the temperature of each spring is different and the springs have shallow waters within their enclosures. Locals tell stories of an ancient ruler who performed his mother’s last rites here. Therefore, this place is claimed to be a religious site.

This cemetery is maintained by the Sri Lankan government. It is said that this cemetery was made for the British soldiers who lost their lives during World War II.

This fort was earlier known as FortFrederick and stands near the Koneswaram temple. This fort was captured, destroyed and rebuilt a number of times by the Portuguese, Dutch and the French.

Hoods Tower Museum displays war antiquities like guns, artillery etc. It gives tourists a glimpse into the war raging era that affected Trincomalee.
