Lord Shiva is worshipped in this temple and is of religious significance for the Hindu pilgrims. It is about six km north of the main city and is housed in the Old Kshetra Mahabaleshwar. The temple is built in South Indian architecture and was built in the 16th century by Chandra Rao of the More dynasty.

This is one of the most popular and visited tourist spots in Mahabaleshwar and is located at a mere distance of two km from the main bus stand. Located at an elevation of 1340m, Arthur's Seat is surrounded by a green plateau on one side and the deep Savitri gorge on the other. Arthur Mallet is the name from which the name of this place is derived; it is believed that he sat here after losing his children and wife in a ferry accident in Savitri river.
